Student Representation is changing at Bolton!
Course Reps
Course Reps are in an excellent position to influence the University. They have the opportunity to express not just their own views, but act as the spokesperson for all the learners on their course. This gives them an opportunity to make a real impact and change the learning experience for learners on their course.

Faculty Reps
Most of the Faculty Rep Positions have been recruited for or have been filled.
We are still looking for one represetnative from each of the following areas:
- Health & Sport
- Product Design & Textiles
- Computing and Games Computing
- Art & Design, Graphics and Animation & Photography
Faculty Representatives are in effect a ‘second tier’ of student representation; they do not replace course level representatives but are in place to provide a distinction between the two very different roles. They are an essential part of ensuring effective representation at Faculty Level and an integral part of closing the feedback loop.
To represent students at this level takes some responsibility so we are offering students an incentive packages worth up to £400.00 to sweeten the deal.

Student Forums
The Students’ Union are currently using the University Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), also known as Moodle to create a virtual space for stdents to talk to their Course and Faculty Level representatives.
The forums are primarily a mechanism to ensure the feedback loop within Faculties works more efficently. raise wider issues they have within their School.
Students as Internal Subject Review Panel Members
This process is currently suspended during the academic review where all courses are changing systematically (academic year 2011/12).
Since the 09/10 academic year, Students have the opportunity to become panel members of an Internal Subject Review. Student Panel Members will have an important role in providing a student perspective to the Review, particularly when it comes to commenting upon the student experience. Student Panel Members are appointed by the University with the help of the Students’ Union.
To represent students at this level takes some responsibility so we are offering students £80.00 each day they take part in a review.
