Student Suggestions and Requests

1.        You said “students need a free drinking water facility.” 

Loft Bar Manager replied “Free water is always available at your Union Loft Bar.”

 

2.        You said “students need a microwave to heat up our food.”

The President replied “I’m still working on this.”

 

3.         You said “Students need a bus service to and from the University to the Hollins Halls of Residence due to the distance and crime in the area”. 

 The President said “I have contacted Bolton Council – and am awaiting a reply, and I have asked the University to bring back the bus services, however,  this  was declined.”

 

4.        You said “Room 365 isn’t open 365 days of the year. An alternative computer room needs to be provided if Room 365 is shut  temporarily.”

President said “I have contacted the University – no reply from them.”

 

5.        You said “during the winter time Room 365 is very cold and stops us from working due to the freezing conditions, we need heating.”

University repliedwe will look into the heating issue.”

 

6.        You said “third year students need a larger mailbox on their University email accounts – the mailbox gets blocked very quickly due to email responses from sending out surveys for their final year project.”

President said “I believe students should have a larger mailbox quota on request, some students use their University account more than others and they should have large mailboxes like staff do.  I have raised this issue with the University and am waiting for a response.”

7. You asked for Vending machines in room 365.

President “I have contacted the Facilities Head and they said “yes” so Vending Machines should be installed soon”

8. You said “apart from panini’s & Toasties Food at the Loft is YUCK!”

President I have contacted the Loft bar Manager and together improvements will be made ASAP”
