Role of the Board of Trustees

The role of Board of Trustees is to establish a culture of accountability, transparency and sustainability.  Its main aims are:-

  •  To oversee the Students’ Union business.
  • To monitor the Students’ Union finance, strategy and legal issues.
  • To act reasonably and prudently in the Union’s interest.
  • To have clear decision-making processes.
  • To carry out the resolutions of the Annual General Meeting or Extraordinary General Meeting providing they are legal and ultra vires.
  • Meet at least three times a year.

These elected students will oversee the Students’ Union business and be responsible for the management and the administration of the Union and ensure that its activities and finances are in accordance with its vision.

The will also ensure that University of Bolton Students’ Union complies with its Constitution, Charity Law, Education Act 1994 and any other relevant legislation or regulations.

 Period of Appointment

 1st December 2011 to 30th June 2012.
