Elections - Can You Make a difference?

The University of Bolton Students' Union Senate is democratically elected and steers the Union and its work on a day-to-day basis. It comprises three Sabbatical Officers and six Non-Sabbatical Officers. Click here for Senate Job Descriptions.

As a team the Senate identifies student issues and needs and looks at ways in which these needs can be met. Senate members can represent students on University committees; ensuring students have a say in the way their courses are delivered. They also work on projects together involving students and co-ordinating their delivery.

The benefits to you as a Senate Member are immense. You will have training and will get full support on the activities and tasks that you carry out. You may also attend conferences and meetings with other Students' Unions who are carrying out similar projects to you. Crucially you will be able to demonstrate to future employers that you have initiated and implemented a project, as well as showing that you are motivated and willing to take on responsibility.

If you are interested in becoming a Sabbatical or non-Sabbatical officer, you will need to run in a cross campus election.

Look out for posters and on the website giving dates when nominations for the Election open.

VOTING

Every student registered here at the University of Bolton is allowed to vote.

In order to help you to make an informed decision about who you want to vote for, come and listen to the candidates at the Hustings.

HUSTINGS

At the hustings each candidate will give a speech to students outlining their proposals if they are elected to office.

After each candidate has spoken, students will be given the opportunity to put any questions they may have to the candidates.
